MEET RED DOOR CONSTRUCTION

BY: CHRIS PARCHER, CONTENT STRATEGIST, MORTARR

HOME BEATS THE HEART

For Jeremy and Brooke Jacobson, it started at home. What was a slab of lumber that separated their home from the rest of the world became the foundation and namesake for their business. A red door, to be exact; beautifully made and exuding the strength and aesthetics they hold in high regard. With Red Door Construction, this is the experience clients receive. Combining Jeremy’s skilled carpentry and Brooke’s history with, and eye for design, there’s no project too big or too small. It’s this flexibility and attention to detail that’s given them a reputation for high quality work no matter the demands. And it’s this reputation that made them the first choice to bring Mortarr's headquarter dreams into reality.

We chatted with them recently to learn more about the commercial construction company and their team, and to get some intel on how Mortarr’s HQ project is coming along.

WHAT INTERESTED YOU IN THE HQ PROJECT?

Brooke – The thought of bringing new life back to this historic bank building was truly a dream project for us. Abby and Amy have a great eye for design so we knew with their vision the end result would be stunning and a real gem. And of course, being able to work with the Mortarr team is a no-brainer, they’re awesome!

WHAT'S SURPRISED YOU MOST, SO FAR, ABOUT THE HQ PROJECT?

Jeremy – The quality of the building’s original construction has surprised me the most. The logistics of what went into them putting in the vaults is truly remarkable.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE SO FAR ON THE HQ PROJECT?

Jeremy – The biggest challenge so far has been matching up modern day materials with the original. We’re creating a seamless transition, as if it’s always been that way.

WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO, READING, OR WATCHING RIGHT NOW?

Brooke – We are currently binge-watching Friday Night Lights … Tami and Coach Taylor forever!
