THE OPENER

BY: MORTARR STAFF CREATORS

Work on Mortarr’s new HQ was completed just in time to take part in the Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener weekend held in Albert Lea this year.

'ello Gov'na!

Our team had an awesome time chatting with Governor Tim Walz and Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) Commissioner Steve Grove about innovation in Minnesota.

The Mortarr team hosted Senator Dan Sparks, Representative Peggy Bennett, state legislators, Albert Lea and Freeborn County officials, and community leaders for a reception the evening of May 10 which was held in conjunction with the Albert Lea community dinner, Hooked on Broadway, which kicked off the 2019 Minnesota Governor's Fishing Opener weekend.

“I couldn’t have imagined the reception going better than it did,” says Senator Dan Sparks. “The Mortarr team was the perfect host and the location was ideal for attendees to enjoy both events. The opportunity for state and local officials to connect on Friday allowed for conversations to continue throughout the weekend."

“Our entire team is so proud to have played a part in the huge community effort that is the Governor’s Fishing Opener, and to help showcase not only what Albert Lea is capable of, but the entire state of Minnesota,” says Amy Petersen, Co-Founder + Chief Sales Officer of Mortarr.

The reception was held in Mortarr’s recently completed headquarters located in the heart of downtown Albert Lea.
