Sixteen Pros and Brands, across four divisions, will vie for the coveted championship and bragging rights as the star of Mortarr’s Inspiration Feed. Head to Mortarr’s Instagram channel, @mortarr, every Monday, March 15 — April 5, to vote for your favorite. Voting begins at 10 a.m. and will last for 24 hours.

Division One: Hospitality + Restaurant Design

Division 1

LEDCONN | KINGPIN SUITE

A combination of 167 LUXFLEX LED flexible sheets were customized on-site to fit the unique oversize, oval-shaped ceiling design for a glamorous, linear, bronze metal mesh ceiling.

GATOR MILLWORKS | JINYA RAMEN BAR, BATON ROUGE, LA

Gator Millworks’ renovation of the JINYA Ramen Bar included crafting elements for the booths and secondary bar, but their main focus was the large wave structure in the restaurant's center, which is composed of 105 fins.

NANAWALL | KŌST, TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA

KŌST is a Toronto-based restaurant found on the 44th floor of the Bisha Hotel. NanaWall provided their HSW60 sliding glass walls for versatility and flexibility for the restaurant.

WOODWRIGHT | VIRGIN HOTELS, DALLAS, TX

It’s no secret that Virgin Hotels have a flair of their own and attract visitors from around the globe. Woodwright’s flooring in Post Oak, European Oak, and Shop Finished is used throughout the stunning hotel.

Division Two: Architecture + Exterior Design

DJR ARCHITECTURE | THE ARCHER, MINNEAPOLIS, MN

The Archer provides small, inexpensive units located on a major transit route, ideal for graduate students, University staff, and working singles. DJR Architecture created a modern and welcoming space for them.

DRI-DESIGN | UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST DESIGN BUILDING

The Design Building at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is the first Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) academic building in the US and the largest installation of wood concrete composites in North America. Dri-Design Shadow Series panels add depth and definition to the exterior.

ACTIVWALL | VIRGIN HOTELS, DALLAS, TX

When the architect for the Virgin Hotel in Dallas drew four 90-degree awning windows, there was no specific product attached. ActivWall crafted these stunning Gas Strut windows in Virgin-brand red to complete the kitchen/serving area of the signature rooftop bar.

CUPACLAD | CHURCH + STATE, CLEVELAND, OH

Church + State was ultimately the first multi-family LEED silver certified development in Cleveland’s West Side. 40,000 square feet of the CUPACLAD® 101 logic rain-screen system was specified for the project.

KALWALL® CORPORATION | ADVANCED MANUFACTURING PARK, ROTHERHAM, ENGLAND

The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre is a testament to function, style, and efficiency. The efficiency relies on the highly-insulated Kalwall system, which is rugged and has superior thermal properties.

TUBELITE | ZIONS BANK, BOISE, ID

Design you can take to the bank. Tubelite worked on the curtainwall project at Eighth & Main for Zion Bank in Boise, ID. The project features Tubelite's 400 Curtainwall in a paint finish, and we’d consider that a wise investment.

DUPONT™ TEDLAR® | CHINA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL, SICHUAN, CHINA

Admire the crisp and clean walls in this Sichuan, China children's hospital cafe and hallways. This project used DuPont™ Tedlar® wallcoverings in the high-traffic spaces of this hospital feature.

GATE PRECAST | PEABODY PLAZA, NASHVILLE, TN

On a sunny day this project looks more like a painting than structure. GATE Precast worked collaboratively to create the façade of Peabody Plaza, which is patterned with precast concrete panels, brick, and glass.

Division Four: Office + Education Design

FLUXWERX | EDMUNDS.COM “EDQUARTERS”, SANTA MONICA, CA

All of the specified Fluxwerx luminaries used LED sources with a color temperature range of 3000K to 5700K, and with a CRI of 90-plus. Achieving a contrast ratio of less than 2:1 in the open workspaces and conference rooms achieved a glare-free design and surpassed the project’s energy goals.

GARDEN ON THE WALL | LEIDOS GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS, RESTON, VA

Leidos’s Gensler-designed HQ features GOTW’s remarkable geometric installations in their lobby space, welcoming all with the restful, rejuvenating effects of biophilia.

FRAMERY | FRAMERY ONE, WORLD'S FIRST CONNECTED SOUNDPROOF POD

Framery One is not only stylish and super smart, it incorporates the latest technology, leading sound insulation standards, and echo-free acoustics. This is a highly adaptable workspace where users aren’t disturbed by outside distractions and can focus on their next project.

TATE INC. | DONALD DUNGAN LIBARY, COSTA MESA, CA

This LEED Gold certified library is a stunning example of mid-20th century modernist architecture. Unique elements include a spiraled stone staircase, and expansive windows that let in streams of natural light.
